Learning to drive is an exciting prospect to most but it can also seem to be a mountainous and daunting task to some when the nerves and fearful thoughts of having driving lessons set in. It is all the more reason that choosing the right driving instructor who is fully qualified and approved is an important first step.

Choosing the best driving instructor for your lessons is crucial as only fully qualified professionals will be able to understand how to quickly and effectively guide you successfully to your goal of obtaining your full driving license and help you choose the most suitable driving course to suit your requirements.

Let me introduce myself. I’m Mike Ward, a fully qualified Grade A Driving Instructor and Proprietor of Drive-MK – Driving School. (What does Grade A mean?)

Fully trained by RED driving school but now proudly independent. As a professional Driving Instructor my aim is to deliver a high standard of driving tuition, together with good quality customer services and value for money. To get you through your practical driving test as quickly and affordable as possible, but at the same time giving you fully structured lessons together with teaching road safety.

Lessons are tailored to each individuals needs. Whether you are a complete novice, international license holder looking to gain a UK driving license or a full license holder wishing to improve your driving skills. I am professional and patient, nervous pupils are welcome as are pupils for whom English is not their native language. Lessons are precise, methodical and include visual and video aids to help build confidence and prepare you for the test.

Training is conducted in a friendly and relaxed manner where learning takes place with fun while at the same time gaining knowledge and understanding of why we need to do each objective correctly. If you are new to driving and never been on the road before, your first lesson will be carried out in a very quiet training area where there is no heavy traffic. This will enable you to get use to the controls and the feel of driving the car. Unlike some other Instructors I only use the Bletchley Test Center, thus I know the test routes well and make sure your competent on all the tricky parts.

Once you have completed your a sufficient number of lessons and approaching test standard I can book your practical test with the DSA directly, I can also access late cancellations and aim to get you an earlier test date.

Being independent of any Franchise Fee’s such as RED, AA, BSM, Bennets, LDC and a host of others, allows me to be competitive on my pricing and rely on satisfied customers referring me to new students.

Some of the larger Franchise may use PDI`s (Provisional Driving Instructors), i.e. not fully qualified and charge you the same for your training as with an ADI (Approved Driving Instructor), fully qualified. Beware off Facebook offers from Woucher, Groupon and the likes, they often offer driving lessons without letting you know who your instructor will be (they text me asking If I want customers, I refuse but Instructors who are new or with few customers will say yes) this is the same for some of the larger franchises. Would you let anyone cut your hair without some information about their abilities or references?

About the car

I chose a Hyundai i30because I believe it is easier for the pupil to pass the driving test in. The car is a diesel making it easier for the pupil to move off from stationary and thus progress quicker to the driving test. . It comes with height adjustable drivers seat and is fully air conditioned to give you a comfortable lesson.
